Math
We are working on fractions and the addition and subtraction of fractions. Before we can add or subtract them we have to find the LCM (lowest common denominator) using multiple methods. We have tried multiplying the denominators together to get a common denominator but it isn't always the lowest, and we have tried using multiples of the denominators. It works!

Google Classroom
In our ongoing attempts to make things easier for our students I am trying to use Google Classroom
for some assignments. Our CLASS CODE is je5x2a
The benefit to students is they have access to assigned tasks on any computer, talk to text options, read to me options and collaboration between students and teacher is increased. I can view and help edit written work from anywhere!
Students should be logging in to Google Chrome
as themselves, as this will carry all downloads and apps with them on to any computer.

Scientist in the Classroom
Today Scientist Bronwen came to portable 12! We did multiple experiments and learned so much about HEAT and energy transfer.
This is Particle Pinball and it helped us to discover what happens when particles move.
Other experiments helped our class discover if some objects absorb infrared radiation better than others, can heat travel through a solid and will hot and cold water mix when they come into contact with each other.
